Fresh Field Quilters

Pictured together Rev Scott Gunthorpe congratulating Pat Rainbow from Fresh Fields Quilting for the wonderful quilts donated by Fresh Fields quilting group to Project Linus. Since inception in 2000 Project Linus, Brisbane, has donated 20 000 handmade, washable quilts to children in hospital with life threatening illnesses; in special need schools with sight, hearing, speech or mobility difficulties; children in foster care, in women’s refuges and to the frail and elderly in nursing homes. Pat will showcase a wide range of handmade quilts and demonstrate her exceptional quilting skills on 30 Nov from 4pm at the Twilight Advent Carols and Craft Festival, St James’ Church, Station St, Wellington Point.

Peter Mathams Group

Peter Mathams and his group will be performing in the Wine and Beer Garden and the Candy Cane Lane area within the Festival grounds.

Bryan Wilson and Peter Mathams enjoy playing a range of contemporary gospel songs together. They particularly like the work of composers such as Robin Mark, Keith and Kristen Getty, Stuart Townend. Bryan’s 12 string gives the depth and beat to their songs, while Peter’s folk style complements. Earlier in November, they got together with Bryan’s wife Wendy, and Sandy Grey, to put on an Irish Gospel Night at the Church of the Resurrection featuring these writers. They are all looking forward to again bringing a mixture of contemporary carols and gospel songs to the Advent Carols and Crafts Festival.
